I used to eat fast food and lots of processed foods. I would devour a burger, fries and soda and then not feel great afterward. As soon as I switched to a healthier diet, I felt better immediately. I rarely have a burger or shake, and try to avoid having fried foods. My doctor told me to think of anything fried as if it fell on a dirty floor. Having the discipline to avoid starting your day with something like a donut is key. Dough fried in oil and covered with refined sugar does not provide you with good fuel for your engine. I know they taste good, but you have to train your body to crave better sources of long term fuel. You don’t have to try and change everything immediately, but I would like to see you make lifestyle changes that over time will help you look and feel better.
Exercise Routine
As far as exercising goes, you do not need to have access to a gym or equipment to get in shape. I used to make excuses for why I shouldn’t get outside and exercise. My knee hurt. My back hurt etc. Then I decided to start walking. At first it was to the end of the street and then it was around the block. Now, I walk about 5 miles per day, counting steps and tracking my activity. I have lost 15 pounds since I started doing this and my knees and back don’t hurt anymore. Walking can be done anywhere and it can help you lose weight and feel better just like it did with me.

Pushups and sit-ups also don’t require a gym and can be done even in a small area. When I started , I could barely do 25 of each. Now I do 100 of each every morning combined with stretches. I feel better than ever and if I need to be strong to lift or carry something I can do it confidently because I AM stronger. If you can afford to join a gym, do it. Most gyms have great equipment that work on different muscle groups. There are also classes and cardio workouts you can do in a gym as well. If you make our exercise part of your daily routine, you will feel better and look better.
